Plenty! Everything hinges on you. Our voices are the only possible balance to the powerful forces pushing development.

Learn about the issues: This site has considerable reference material in both Research Links and the Forum. Let your voice be heard Events. Attending county and city meetings is equally important when people attend meetings, government notices.

Is The Fakkema Farm Insignificant? The county argues that the property is significant, but they will be able to mitigate this by keeping the farm and using "low impact development" (totally undefined). The City of Oak Harbor wants a free hand without interference from the County. The Swan Lake Preservation Group argues that this development will lead to irreparable and significant impact on the watershed. Take a front row seat in this debate that has such far reaching influence on your community. We urge you to write a comment and send it to the County commissioner address below.
